He is alive, still teaching, and still meets people himself — one to one in person, or in a small group online, arranged on request rather than held to a timetable. Everything here came from talks he gave aloud to people who asked first, and he is still giving them.

Honest answers about this thing
It is a machine reading transcripts. Knowing exactly what that means is part of using it well.
How is this different from asking a general AI?
A general model answers from everything it has ever read, which means it answers from no one in particular. This one reads a single curated library of recorded teachings and nothing else. If the answer isn't in there, you get told so rather than handed something plausible.
Is this Mahaguru?
No. This is a computer program that has read transcripts of Mahaguru's recorded talks and writes answers from them. It is not a person, it is not a teacher, and it can be wrong. Mahaguru himself is alive and still teaching. If what you want is an actual conversation, ask the Center for a meeting rather than settling for this.
Can I meet Mahaguru?
Yes. The Center arranges meetings on request: one to one in person, or in a small group online, about an hour. There is also a monthly sermon on Poya day and a Sunday question circle with the Center's teachers. All of these are held in Sinhala.
Where do the answers come from?
From the recorded teachings, and only from those. Every answer names the talks it drew on and links to them, so you can hear the original for yourself.
What happens to my questions?
They are stored against your account so a conversation can be reopened, and they are used to answer you. Anything beyond that (personalisation, or using a comment to improve the service) is a separate switch you turn on yourself, and can turn back off at any time.
Can it help in a crisis?
No, and it will not try. If a question suggests someone is in danger, the answer leads with real crisis lines for their region instead. It is not an emergency service and it is not therapy.
Do I need the app?
No. Everything works here in a browser: asking, past conversations, voice, settings. The app is the same product with the same account, for when a phone is easier.
